Comment
The Symphony is named "song of the passing of time" and it is written for a large group of winds and percussion that accompany a mezzo soprano voice singing verses from a few of my favourite poets. These are Joan Vinyoli, Salvador Espriu, Enric Casasses, Vinct Andrés Estellés and Joan Brossa. Through these texts we take a journey in six movements through some of the sensations we experience with the passing of time, at times quite overwhelming. Fear, uncertainty, eternity, oblivion: these are some of the concepts that the piece explores; concepts that we all experience due to this uninterrupted passing of time, that push us almost without realising through the different phases of our lives.
